The Problem:

Smash Courts quickly became a vibrant hub for a rapidly growing community of those playing pickleball. As interest in pickleball surged, they recognized both the opportunity and the need to expand. After an extensive search and negotiations, they secured a new location—a nearly 33,000-square-foot space on Monaghan Road.

The Solution:

Managing a major renovation and scaling their operations required additional support. Community Futures Peterborough was there to help again, this time with a business expansion loan in late 2025 with flexible terms to support the investment in the new facility.

Implementation & Results:

Today, Smash Courts has grown into a premier facility featuring more than 12 premium indoor courts, expanded social spaces, enhanced programming, and a retail pro shop. It is also the region’s only licensed Lululemon retailer. This growth reflects not only the rising popularity of pickleball, but also Jody and Jeff’s commitment to making the sport accessible and welcoming for everyone in the region.
