At the Business Advisory Centre, we’re here to make launching, growing and scaling your business easier. Whether you’re just starting out, looking to grow, or preparing for your next big step, our team offers ongoing, one-on-one free support, tailored to your unique needs.
Community Futures Peterborough is proud to be an Ontario Small Business Advisory Centre (OSBAC). OSBAC programs and services are delivered by Community Futures Peterborough and are funded in partnership with the Government of Ontario.
Ontario Small Business Advisory Centres deliver provincially funded programs and services that help entrepreneurs and small businesses start, grow, and succeed. With more than 50 centres across Ontario, OSBACs foster local business growth and strengthen communities across the province.
Personalized Support, Every Step of the Way
Your journey begins with a 30-minute intake meeting with our Entrepreneurship Officer, Allison Adam. In this session, Allison will get to know you, your business, your challenges, and your goals, and determine the next steps that will best support your success. From there, you’ll receive:

Our Entrepreneurship Officer who offers tailored support for entrepreneurs at every stage. Allison specializes in ideation, business planning and creative problem-solving, guiding you from idea to clear next steps with the right resources and connections.
Rose Terry
Our business advisor with over a decade of experience supporting hundreds of entrepreneurs with everything from business strategy, e-commerce to marketing.
Braden Clark
Our loan manager with nearly ten years of experience working directly with entrepreneurs and small business owners on cash flows, forecasts and budgets.
Abigail Keenan
Our human resources expert who guides entrepreneurs through the process of hiring employees, developing HR policies and human resource start-up support.
Devon Girard
Our executive director who connects our clients to the broader ecosystem and explores partnerships and opportunities to support their business journey.

Accessible and Free Service
Our advisory services provide information, referrals, advisory services, mentoring, workshops, networking opportunities, and business resources to support entrepreneurs and small businesses at all stages of development.
All of our our one-on-one consultations and service offerings are completely free to access for residents or businesses located in the City of Peterborough, Peterborough County and the First Nations communities of Curve Lake and Hiawatha.
This ensures that every entrepreneur and business owner, no matter their stage or resources, can get the support they need without barriers.

Our Entrepreneurship Officer, Allison Adam, is fully bilingual and excited to support French-speaking entrepreneurs in the City of Peterborough and Peterborough County. Whether you’re exploring a new business idea, developing your business plan, working on your marketing strategy, or looking for general guidance as you grow, Allison can provide resources, support, and one-on-one advisory services in French or English.

Programs to Help You Succeed
Our programs give you practical tools, expert guidance, and funding opportunities to help you start, grow, or strengthen your business.
OSBAC programs and services are delivered by Community Futures Peterborough and are funded in partnership with the Government of Ontario.
Provides training, mentoring, and grant opportunities up to $5,000 for eligible entrepreneurs (18+) to start, expand or buy a small business.
Provides training, mentoring and grants up to $3,000 to Ontario students, between the ages of 15 and 29, who wish to start a full-time business over the summer.
An online hub that provides centralized free resources and tools for selling and buying a small business in Ontario, with a focus on preparing businesses for smooth ownership transition.
