Community Futures Peterborough (CFP) works closely with community partners to identify community priorities and ensure that our activities align accordingly. We proudly assist community growth projects, both financially and through knowledge sharing opportunities.
CFP supports community-based projects by collaborating with local municipalities, business development organizations, associations and other lending organizations to help small businesses succeed and to implement special initiatives that address specific challenges within the City and County of Peterborough.

How to Apply For Funding – Community Economic Development (CED) Projects
Community Futures Peterborough supports community-based projects by collaborating with other partners to implement special initiatives that address specific challenges within the City and County of Peterborough.
To apply for funding for your project (up to a maximum of $2,000) send an email with the subject line as CED Projects to gail@cfpeterborough.ca or mail it to 270 George Street North, Suite 103 Peterborough, ON K9J 3H1 with the following information:
- Project Name
- Project Description
- Project Lead & Contact Information
- # of Peterborough County residents impacted
- # of Peterborough County businesses impacted
- # of Peterborough County non-profit organizations impacted
- # and Name of all Project Collaborators
- Total project cost (funding from all sources)
- $ Request from the Peterborough CFDC

Win This Space
Win this Space is a competition meant to educate and help small business owners, which Community Futures is glad to provide with workshops and mentors. Funds are contributed from all community partners to make up the grand prize and offer a downtown storefront.
Celebrate Havelock
The Central Hastings News was cancelled and they were the main media sponsor for the event, so the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen applied to receive funding from Community Futures Peterborough to assist with their marketing campaign for the event.
Junior Achievement: Business Hall of Fame
The Business Hall of Fame was created to honour individuals and businesses that have impacted economic development in Peterborough. Community Futures Peterborough provided funds to sponsor an award and help further the development of the Hall of Fame.
Displaced Workers
Entrepreneurial Training Program for Displaced Workers
This program is a multi-partner collaboration between Fleming College, Peterborough and the Kawarthas Economic Development, and Community Futures Peterborough.
Utilizing the team members vast expertise, this program aims to provide flexible delivery and custom entrepreneurial training to displaced workers that are interested in starting their own enterprises. As a local program, the team works together to provide training, help to build the worker’s skillsets, and assist in the growth of new businesses.
