PETERBOROUGH – Community Futures Peterborough (CFP) announced today they have sold their building at 351 Charlotte Street in Peterborough and moved into their new strategic location inside the Venture North Building on George Street.
“The move into Venture North provides us with the opportunity to better align our services with key partners,” says Board Chair Peter Gaffney. “We are thrilled to continue working on community projects that support the growth and expansion of local business and employment in our region.”
Following the sale of the building last week, the Board of Directors held a strategic planning session to discuss how the funds will be used and unanimously agreed to grow and use our investment to drive employment and sustainable growth within the community. Details on how the funds will be used will be made public in the coming months.
“We are thrilled with the opportunity to reinvest these dollars into the community” said Executive Director Gail Moorhouse. “Our board has given us a clear mandate to grow and reinvest in Peterborough and the County, and we are ecastic with the chance to do so.”
The move to Venture North allows for CFP staff to be housed in the same building as key community partners, including Peterborough and the Kawarthas Economic Development Corporation (PKED), Venture North and Eastern Ontario Community Futures. Next week, CFP and PKED are hosting their first Rural Business Summit in Millbrook and Burleigh Falls. The new location also allows the organization to become more visible in the downtown core and work closely with other key community partners. An open house will be held in mid-November.
